SILK ROUTE @ NIT CALICUT

Though the band has a few really good numbers up their sleeves but performing LIVE is en entirely diffrent business. If i am supposed to describe their show in one word it was pathetic. To add to this was the extremely poor sound arrangement by NIT. It would have been better if they would have called just one band to play instead of two and spent the rest of money on sounds and lights. They played a few numbers of Junoon and they were really awefull in that. The crowd was very enthusiastic though and their was a repeat of Mobile light waving concept. Overall the show was just on the limits of being bearable. Could have been much better if their was a good sound and light system. Anyways still NIT ROCKS ...

Parikrama LIVE in concert at NIT CALICUT

This was the second time i was watching this band playing on stage and there was considerable diffrence (read deterioration) in their performance. Earlier i watched them at Spring fest , IIT Kharagpur. Their performance was marked by a lack of enthusiasm in the crowd and reflected back in the band itself. Though some of the numbers they played were near to the original but the best was the one which was far from the original..... and it was " Sweet child of mine" ...played with violin ...... made it great ..... other good numbers were as usual of Pink Floyd - run like hell. wall et al . The new addition was Cold Play's Yellow and they played it really well. Their original numbers were not as energetic as they could have been . One marked distinguishing parameter of the show was the concept of " Mobile light wave " . Even the band could not resist but to appreciate it. With the light of mobile switched ON a bunch of students at NIT started to wave it and soon many followed the suit for the shear attractiveness of the concept. All and all NIT Calicut Rocks .......
